How strong is the smell? I don't like things that are too heavily perfumed, is this a mild smell or very strong?
It's quite a subtle smell to the extent that it fades pretty quickly after application. It's not heavily perfumed but rather tries to emulate a clean and freshly washed smell.

Does this leave the beard with a matte finish?
It’s more a conditioner for the beard and skin around that area it doesn’t leave any kind of finish my partner says it has a nice smell and it doesn’t have to used in the shower it’s a everyday product if needed

I've used for years and my beard is growing fine. It's not shampoo the 2 in 1 refers to it as face moisturiser and beard conditioner. I don't use it on face particularly.
My routine is shampoo beards, rinse, woodys conditioner leave for a bit in shower partial rinse on wash days. Oil and style as usually.

Every other day of the week I just rinse in shower, oil followed by small amount of woodys conditioner.
Works well for me.
Give it a try for the money it's very good.

Does this soften the beard?
Yes! I'm married to a beardy and he uses this product. I can definitely tell you that it not only softens his beard, it looks better. He says that his skin under the beard feels good too. Recommended 😁

After you’re out the shower, dry your beard and put a wee drop of this through it and leave it in.
