7 TIPS TO APPLY NAIL POLISH LIKE A PRO
If you want to achieve the same results as a nail technician, you must follow our top tips for painting your nails. By following our tips, you will achieve a beautiful, polished finish that will last longer than a typical home manicure. You will learn how to apply polish like a pro if you read the following description.
1. Start with the right nail polish:
When it comes to nail polish, don't solely focus on the colour. Look for high-quality brands that are featured in nail salons. You can find all three of these brands in nearly every nail salon. Make sure that your nail polish is still fresh by checking its expiration date. If nail polish has separated and doesn't blend after a few shakes, it's time to toss it out. Dryened out nail polish will also make your nails look blotchy and uneven.

2. File and buff your nails:
Make sure your hands and fingernails are clean before beginning your manicure or pedicure. Keeping the file in the center as you move it in one direction will even out your nails. Avoid dragging the nail file back and forth across your nails; it can damage your samples.
A wrong method of buffing the nails can cause more harm than good, especially when done incorrectly. The four distinct surfaces of a nail buffer may be confronted with any grit, making buffing with a buffer progressively more arduous. Begin with the harshest grit, hold the buffer at an angle against the nail surface, then slide it towards the centre of the nail. Working from the base of the nail up to the tip, reduce the amount of pressure as you reach the tip.
3. Dont forget the base and top coat of the nails:
You shouldn't skip this step! Professional nail technicians don't use a base coat that leaves traces of residues or oils on the nails and cuticles. Instead, base coats protect your nails and cuticles from common problems such as breaking, splitting, and peeling.
The top coat will keep the color, prevent chipping, and give shine to your freshly polished look. The fast-drying, shiny top coat can be used while on the go to avoid smudges.
4. Use a fine brush to create a defined outline around your nail cuticles:
Draw a line around the cuticle to prevent stray polish from landing on the skin and for a salon quality finish. After your polish is applied, apply a oil or lotion to replenish cuticles' moisture.
5. Apply the nail polish perfectly and with care
Before you open the bottle of nail polish, pat it between your hands for 15-20 seconds to mix up the polish without creating bubbles, which can result in an uneven coat on the nail. Remove any excess polish from the opposite side of the brush after wiping it clean. Load the brush with polish and stroke it across the centre of the nail, from the cuticle to the tip in one swift movement. Then, swipe it across both sides.
You can get an even coat on your entire nail by using this three-straw method. Allow each coat to dry before adding the next. Increase the variety of colours by using two or three more coats. Top off your nails with a top coat after they have been finished.
6. Rotate your dominant hand to apply nail polish:
When applying fingernail polish, you may find that using your non-dominant hand is problematic. Instead of relying on your weak left hand to do all of the work, position your right hand flat and rotate it as you go.
7. Allow for adequate drying time
Before applying another coat of nail polish, allow your nails to completely dry before continuing with your day. The drying time will depend on the type of nail polish used and how many coats are applied, but typically, the colour will set within 20 minutes of being dry.
